Jann Clavadetscher is a Swiss-Irish visual artist and filmmaker born 1986 in Zurich. In 2005 he became part of the Dublin based Experimental Film Society “... the most active, prolific and intrepid group of experimental filmmakers working in Ireland today.” AEMI. He holds a MFA in Media Arts from the National College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from Zurich University of the Arts. His practice includes installation, performance, short film and feature film projects all conceived within the context of an idea of cinema. He works with a wide variety of digital & analogue formats from 35mm Celluloid to CCTV camera footage and from pocket beamers to hand-cranked film projectors. He is a recipient of The Irish Arts Council’s ‘Film Project Award’ and ‘Visual Arts Bursary Award’.
